RDSP Expected Launch Reminder

November 11, 2025

RDSP expected launch December 2008.
The HRDC website will post information about banks/credit unions launch of the RDSP program in December 2008.

Information will be posted on the HRSDC website as they are responsible for the launch of the RDSP in December 2008:
http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/disability_issues/disability_savings/index.shtml

Explanation of how the grants and bonds will work: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/disability_issues/disability_savings/cdsbg.shtml#grant

What will you miss out on if you don’t register by December 31 or otherwise follow instructions if the plan open is delayed?
•   $1,000 bond for each person up to age 49 who qualify for the Disability Tax Credit on Form T2201
•   Matching grants for additional contributions
RC4064 - Medical and Disability-Related Information - Includes Form T2201 - 2007

Remember to sign up before year end so as not to miss out on this years’ bond and grant.

If RDSP plans are not initiated on time by the financial institutions, there is supposed to be a retroactive plan, but people will need to follow the instructions carefully to access the retroactive bonus/grant option should the banks not make the RDSP's available in December 2008.

In December 2008, watch for announcement about how to initiate an RDSP before January 1, 2009! Alternatively, watch for instructions to activate the ability to retroactively apply for the $1,000 bond and/or matching grants.
