Tax Free $2,300 Child Disability Amount

At parent support groups families often tell me they did
not know about the Child Disability Benefit.

To receive this benefit you must apply for the Child Tax
Credit even though you are not entitled to it. Many
families tell me they have not applied for the Child Tax
Credit to trigger these cash benefit which is tax free
because they did not know this.

Almost all families with a child with a disability should
receive at least a portion of this tax free benefit.

The top threshold for this benefit moved from about $37,000
to over $150,000 several years ago. If may not have applied
for the Child Tax Benefit because normally your income is
too high.

You must apply for the Child Tax Benefit to trigger this
benefit. This benefit is worth applying for because it may
be as much as $2,300 per year in non taxable cash in your
pocket.
