To get started, you should have:

1. At least basic understanding of the rules of keeping records and some accounting/bookkeeping courses/experience
2. QuickBooks, either Desktop or Online version installed on your computer
3. Basic understanding of how your Windows or Mac computer's operating system functions, at least enough to perform basic folder & file management  

I am conversant with how to implement all of the modules in QuickBooks Pro or Premier, both desktop and online Plus or Essentials. 

I use the Premier Accountant version which allows me to switch between all of the various versions of Premier, Retail, Mfg, NPO, etc.
