How to test sound setup before a webcast:Call in using your long distance providerListen in using a headset (free)... Required: USB Headset with a mic: Skype compatible ( starting at $30)
Steps to take at least several days in advance of your first meeting:
- Insert the USB connector in the USB port (preferred / reduces possibility of echo)
- Install www.skype.com for free
- Install a free trial of www.gotomeeting.com
- Invite a friend to attend your test meeting by email
- Set up your audio, choosing mic and speakers instead of telephone
- Check your other sound settings in Windows and your webcam to ensure that all choices are set to default to your USB headset
- Other sound settings can conflict with GoToMeeting, so check that your other device mic's are turned off
- Get technical help if you can't get it working by yourself
