February 25, 2010, proposed changes to the “Place of Supply” rules by the federal government may affect your business if you operate trans-provincially by delivery goods or providing services to HST participating provinces, even if you do not operate in any of six HST participating provinces (British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland).
Quebec converted to QST in 1992 and HST was introduced in the Atlantic Provinces in 1997. As of July 1, only Saskatchewan, Manitoba and PEI have a retail sales tax. ...
